I came here to get my US drivers license for the first time since I just moved to FL, I can say the service was fast and efficient, my first visit was on a Wednesday around 12.30 and I had taken and passed my exam by 1.30 so pretty good.
Getting a Driver's License at this office was a stressless experience. Since we just moved from another state we were also registered to vote. Easy Peasy. The staff was helpful, informative and fun.
Overall not an unpleasant experience and it takes 2 hours and 2 days to get your license.
The road test was administered at the scheduled time on the next day and it's fairly easy. The examiner tried her best to be clear and gave clear instructions, then they take your information and print out your license ; again it takes around 1hr.
The guy at the information desk was helpful and polite and all the women as well. However I did receive what I believe was a really inappropriate comment from one of the male workers behind the numbered counters who thought it was really funny to tell me that I "had not gone over the wall (referring to the border wall they want to build between the US and Mexico) but rather around it" because of the fact that I am Hispanic and not an American citizen and I have one nationality but residency status and drivers license from other countries.
Always friendly and helpful staff. Business is handled in a timely manner
However, overall the service here is good.
I remember when my mom and I had to get an official ID for me when I was about 14 years old. There was a lady who had to ask us questions so that she could have proper information to display on my ID. One of the questions was about my citizenship status, and I understand that this type of question is important. The lady asked, "And you're not from here?". I am Hispanic, which one would probably never know if I was born in the U.S.A, but the way she asked got me feeling upset. She gave me a kind of look when she asked the question as well. I responded, "I am a U.S. citizen, I was born in Dallas, Texas". After I responded, she had a weird vibe the rest of the time. I just don't like it when people assume, when they don't know the facts.
Bebe P. Thomas was amazing answering all my questions and helping me out! Fast, easy and nice!
