Great place everyone was great
I was very nervous about having surgery because it was my first time having surgery. But the nurses were very nice and understanding and really went out of their way to keep me comfortable, relaxed and reassured. They took a situation that had me nervous and turned it into something that wasn't really that bad after all. Thanks a lot to the nurses of the doctors same day surgery.
Surgery went well, then epic fail...discharged after hip replacement on 41 yr old daughter..outside waiting for car for pick-up to go home..bleeding noticed through clothes on incision..nurse accompanying wheelchair outside pulls down daughter's shorts (outdoors)! and proceeds to put lots of gauze pads on w/tape, when asked if we should go back in, responded no, got this far, we don't want to start over....note: the ladies room was just down the hall..into car, back home..home health nurse changes bandage, bleeds thru again, tells us to go back to Surgery Center..back into car, back to Center.. told she was discharged and no longer their patient..surgeons office contacted..back into car, bandage replaced, back home again.. patient in and out of car 5 hours after major surgery 5 times..We felt rushed, nurse outside the building seemed oblivious to fact this was less than sterile or at least hospital environment, changing a bandage outdoors in front of everyone totally unacceptable..if someone recommends same day surgery, just say NO..
nurses don't know how to start an IV, my surgery was late, the doctors did not speak to me or my husband after surgery, did not have medical boot for my foot after operation, had to drive 5 miles to get one.....pretty bad
