As a doctor, I would only trust my children to go to the absolute best pediatric ophthalmologist in Sarasota. That is what Dr. Silverman is, the best. He has a wonderful personality, skills, and knowledge. No need to look further a pediatric eye doctor. His amazing work speaks for itself.
Dr. Silverman was our second opinion in the case of our son's strabismus. After our first visit to his office, we decided that we did not need a third. His office staff are always so sweet and polite and they always make my son smile. It is always easy to make an appointment because they have so many locations. When we decided to go ahead with the surgery he and his staff did everything they could to make me and my husband feel at ease including answering my two pages of questions and calling me twice the day of surgery (Dr. Silverman personally called at about 8pm and the surgery was at 9am) to make sure that everything was okay. I ALWAYS reccommend Dr. Silverman to other parents that stop and ask me about my son's eyes. Dr. Silverman will sing to your child and play with them instead of making you hold your child's arms up above their head and letting them scream and cry like crazy in order to look into their eyes, which is what the other doctor that we went to did. I have never left Dr. Silverman's office even remotely feeling uneasy about my choice of doctor, let alone having me AND my son sobbing uncontrollably. I don't know how else to praise Dr. Silverman and his office other than to mention that my family drives 1 1/2 hours (in good traffic) just to see him and it would still be worth it to drive 3 hours or more. I definitely think that he could be the doctor for your child too!
