I think the hotel is currently a mess, but I kind of liked several aspects and hope they get a budget to renovate. Convenient for short-time and business travelers, not really for longer/vacation stays and with children.
Bad: Run-down, dark rooms. Door and curtain damaged, the table missing, the buttons of the AC stolen. Housekeeping skipped me two days in a row and did not understand any English. Some guests scared me a little - guys with liquor bottles at night in the hallways, a crew of five man, probably construction workers, sharing the room next to me.
Gotta love fleas, all over in the room, went to the front desk to get another room and had fleas in it as well. Also it doesn't help when the office kid says at least it isn't bed bugs this time. Guess you get what you pay for. If you want to save money this is the place, if you want piece of mind this is not the place!
Good: Clean. Central, very convenient location - several restaurants and a Starbucks across the street. Decent breakfast included, small, but well-organized place with fresh pancakes, fruit salad, eggs and more. Very nice and helpful front desk employees trying their best. If booked over an app reasonable prices (under $100) given the high level of Sarasota.
We stayed 4 nights and it was the best place to stay so far on our 60+ day sojourn. Staff was terrific and the place was perfect!
Terrible and unsafe. We were placed in the middle of the renovation zone. Awakened before sunrise by the dumpster being replaced/emptied. We had an attempted breakin around 2AM. Brought both of these up with the front desk at check out...can't control the dumpster and maybe the system programmed another key wrong. Sure but why was someone trying to enter our specific room??? DISAPPOINTED AND APPALLED BY RESPONSE. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Clean not up to date. Worth the money. Breakfast as good as a 200 dollars motel
