Rick's is my favorite restaurant. We have been eating at Rick's for many years, and my meals are always cooked to perfection! Save room for dessert.
The lamb chops in a red wine reduction are wonderful. The food here is very French. They are open for dinner only. A true French bistro. I really enjoy going there. It is a small restaurant and they don't rush you or try to turn tables. The house wines a generally quite good wether by the glass or bottle. Rick and his wife are so nice - always a very pleasant evening.
Authentic French cuisine, as you walk in the aromatics are mesmerizing! Their menu... So much to choose from, it's really hard to make a decision, I want it all!
Quaint, locally run bistro with really great food. The french onion soup was spot on - the best I've had. The Beef bourguignon and lamb chops were both fantastic, and the desserts were great - just really classic french bistro fare. Definitely looking forward to coming back when I am in Sarasota next.
Eating at Rick's was a dining experience, not just a meal. The escargot was the most tender I have eaten and not overly salty. All of the entrees ordered in my group were prepared fresh, portion size was just right/a little extra on the fish dishes, large on the beef stew for us ladies. The bread served before and during the meal was hot, plentiful, and excellent. The small staff, including the chef, were extra attentive to us during the entire meal. They seemed to be genuinely concerned that we were having an excellent experience. For desserts we tried the chocolate mousse, profiteroles and the creme brulee - all excellent. My personal favorite was the cream puffs.Two of our party of four have been to Paris; the food was as good as the best food we consumed there. The prices were not inexpensive, but, I felt, in line with other restaurants of similar quality in the area. The prices were definitely in line with the quality of the food we received. I highly recommend this restaurant.
