Loved my stay at the Ritz-Carlton of Sarasota! Everyone was so helpful and caring and kind. The spa was amazing and so relaxing. My room was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious! I will definitely be back.
Given the price that was likely paid, the level of organization for the wedding was terrible. My son was the ring bearer. We were the first to arrive aside from the wedding party. No one, aside from the wait staff was anywhere to be seen. At nearly the last minute, a hotel staff person showed up but had no idea what was going on. He took me to the planner, who happened to be with the wedding party. I asked if the groom's parents were needed (rhetorical question) and the planner looked at her list, named them and said they were needed immediately. Off I went to go fetch them. I got them to where they needed to go just before the ceremony started. I was happy to help, but I certainly expected far better service.
I would give the Ritz a better review but for the fact that after many years of complaining about the slamming of doors, they have still not installed slow close hinges to address this problem. If you value a good night sleep, stay at the next door Westin (which we moved to from the Ritz). In addition to their Heavenly Bed, they have slow close hinges offering a truly restful night of sleep. Also, be warned, the Ritz attracts a lot of families with small children around vacation times which adds to the noise level. Otherwise, the hotel is nice and the food is good (but not as good as the food at the Westin hotel restaurant which is at another level).
Went for a wedding. Lots of great amenities and extras. Few things were mentioned that didn't happen such as water in car when picking up from valet and offering champagne when checking in
I attended a wedding. Most of the event was great but I expected better. The wedding coordinator didn't tell everyone where they should be and although in the end it was ok it could have been much better organized. The hotel was beautiful and staff extremely nice. The food was also delicious.
