They are INCREDIBLY competent. They figure out what the problem is and fix it, ASAP. They fixed a major brake issue for me recently -- I dropped it off at about 1 PM and if I hadn't had to go to back to work, I could have waited around and picked it up the same day.
I will give Keith good marks for being very nice and quite professional. The quality of the work, however, left a lot to be desired. Work requested was a transfer case and rear diff. fluid change and mount/install 4 tires I purchased elsewhere. The mechanic failed to clean the aero pan and resulted on a puddle of transmission fluid on my garage floor. It appeared to be a leak so I had to bring it back. The next day on the interstate, above 60mph there is a significant vibration caused by an unbalanced tire. This required me to bring it back again to get the tires rebalanced (confirmed right front was incorrectly balanced). In addition, there was a 3psi difference in tire pressures. Simply lazy work, in my opinion. Will not go back.
Regarding the review below negatively comparing Steve's to Tom's Car Care Connection, I've dealt with both places over an A/C issue that kept cropping up.
Steve's diagnosed the problem in about 30 minutes and permanently solved it for substantially less...and they did it the same day.
I have been going to Steves Auto Repair for 15 years. The shop knows my trucks. The prices are reasonable. I have read some bad reviews on this site. I have brought my trucks back to Steve and Keith on a few occasions. Both worked to resolve my trucks problems. I have done valve jobs on gas and diesel engines. I do my own brakes. I take the tough jobs to Steves Auto Repair.
This is, without a doubt, the best auto repair place that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I don't think I've ever met Steve, but Keith and his team have been consistently honest, competent, and good-natured.
Tom's charged me several hundred dollars and kept my car in the shop for 2-3 days without permanently fixing the problem.

These guys have NEVER tried to sell me anything that isn't strictly necessary. Heck, for non-urgent repairs, I've even ordered parts online a couple of times -- I saved myself a nice chunk of money and they were fine with me providing the parts.
