90 minutes later we got the reserved vehicle. We will NEVER utilize Hertz at this location.
Pick up was a mess- a line of Gold Members were furious that they had to wait behind us ‘’regular’’ folks, and The Sarasota Airport Hertz had no vehicles ready. I had to walk out to an outer space in a torrential downpour to get my keys, only to be told that ‘’Christine’’ didn’t have any keys. I was 100% drenched from the rain. I was invited to get in the driver’s seat as she tried to get a vehicle. One of the Gold Members showed up at her door, drenched, and no more seats in our vehicle. Profanity was expressed by the man as he hiked back to the building.
Renting a car from Hertz was a very good experience for me. I rented one way from Florida to California. They worked with me on my departure and return dates that were changed several times. The mini van was nice and worked out well for my needs. I high
Went to Enterprise and they were terrible - had no cars in stock despite me having made reservations and everything. Told me to wait all day to see if one became available or to taxi over to another location and pay double to pick it up at that location. Not to mention they were not very polite. So I went to Hertz and they got me a better car for about the same price in under 10 minutes. Steve was also very helpful and kind. Moral of the story - Enterprise sucks and Steve rocks.
If I could give zero stars I would. I have never been so infuriated with a company. I moved to Sarasota from Boston today, I rented a car to drive from Boston, Ma to Sarasota. Upon arrival I was told my car was delayed in Boston and would take an additional two days. So I drove to the hertz location at the airport to figure out what I could do. I asked to add on days or start a new account and to figure out what would work best. The man at the counter closed my account upon telling me that he needed a major credit card, yet I used my debit card originally. So he closes my account then tells me he can't help me, I asked why he would close my account before confirming with me! And of course the only 3 companies that could use my debt card were "out of cars" yet I was able to make a reservation online, so I approached hertz furious asking if there's a number I can call, he tells me no. So now I'm in Sarasota, alone, with no way home. And he tells me to go get my things from the car and good luck? Really, is this how you run a business? Thank you very much for making sure I never use Hertz again. The abolsute worst customer service I've ever seen. So rude, I panicked and he told me to call a cab. I'd pay double the cost to avoid you in the future.

No apologies, no customer service. NOT GOOD.
